Get On Your Boots is an awesome new track that reintroduces fans to the New Age sound of the band famed in the Joshua Tree days. Stepping out of the comfort wear of mainstream pop rock, the band delves into fuzzy, rumbling guitars and funky basslines to whip out a refreshing sonic experience without the extravagance common to big rock bands. Although, there are no arena-suited anthemic hooks, and Edge’s glam-guitar antics are sparse, this electro-rocker track is packed with the magnetism of subtlety.
The addictive chorus and talky rhymthmic vocals of Bono make this yet another tribute to the band’s trademark first single success rate – in that the first single from a new U2 album is almost always a winner, whether its Vertigo from 2004's How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb or Beautiful Day from 2000's All You Can't Leave Behind.
The song is the first single from the band’s upcoming digital album No Line On The Horizon, recorded in Morocco, Ireland, New York and London and produced by Brian Eno, Danny Lanois and Steve Lillywhite.
