When all your friends were dudes, even if they didn’t surf; when shaggy hair and ripped jeans wasn’t scruffy; and somebody on the radio was willing to walk 500 miles for you, and then 500 more…this is when 1993 was happening! And the power drink for bands like The Proclaimers in Sri Lanka to go their miles, Scottish accent and all, was the radio station that was instantaneously recognized as not just a first, but inimitably different.
