David Guetta owned this year in dance music. His third hit, Without You, taken off the album, Nothing But the Beat, is a collaboration with yet another guest artist superstar. This time following in the footsteps of Nicki Minaj, Flo Rida and Snoop Dogg, is the princely bachelor of R&B, Usher.
And Guetta uses his latest hit to save Usher from a life of lonely beach time…at least according to the video. Guetta on the video clip, uses the beats that he used to make giant bubbles to sweep up girls in his clip to Where Them Girls At, to now bring entire continents together, to make, you guessed it, one big party on the beach! The same beach that Usher was standing alone and miserable on. And the countries that come together to the sound of Guetta and to keep Usher company on the video clip include Thailand, Brazil, South Africa and of course the U.S.
On the video, Guetta said, “Every continent is coming back together, and it’s one big party, and there’s no more different continents, no more different colors, we’re all the same and we’re altogether and it’s about the love and the music and that’s what the video is and that’s what the music is.”
The best part of the song, aside from its one-love propaganda, however, is Usher’s contributions. His syrupy vocals effortlessly soar into anguish-stricken pitches that make can literally cross oceans in tenacity and soul.
